North most point

Woke up to rain, then drove to Dunnet Head the northernmost point of mainland Scotland. Here I thought was a coach load of Italians, but no instead it was a convoy of 10 to 11 camper vans.

We then had a tour and sampling at the nearby Gin distillery (Rock Rose Gin).

Continued on to John O’Groats, then to Duncansby Head (extra 1) where the sunshine came out, although the wind was very strong.

Next stop was Bucholie Castle (extra 2) via a dirt road and field waist high in grass and thistles (Mrs M wasn’t impressed). It was the Mowat ancestral home from around 1320 to 1661.
