An Artist's Life

Storm aftermath

Friday and Saturday we're good days for sales and crowd. We got a report of a vicious thunderstorm heading our way, so we lowered our tent, retied weights and took sculpture s off pedestals. Alas, many took no precautions. The night guards found 2 tangled on light poles, several twisted into wreckage and maybe half had pulled their moorings. Out of 140 tents large and small, there was rain-soaked and wind damage to half. My tent? Came through like a champ, but we did break down quickly and skedaddled for home before the next storm hit shortly after we got there. This is the only evidence I photographed....my soaked tent sides on my front porch. We were in a bit of a hurry.
