Dashing

Very hectic day, although lots of more positive aspects than recently and a mixture of home and work stuff. After some office time I had all the boxes delivered for packing the house up - gulp! - then down to finalise bathroom decisions with builder. He was good at narrowing down my choices for me so that I didn’t have the constant sense of being overwhelmed with decisions....as well as being very patient and positive. Glad we went with him. Still decisions on tiles and flooring to make though (argh!).
Dashed from there straight back to town for Book Festival event, preceded by an interesting meeting with someone I’ve just been introduced to. We had a good and very productive chat sitting in the sun with a G&T....what a boost after such a tricky week (for us both it seems). The cookery writer and campaigner on poverty Jack Monroe was the speaker at the festival event - very entertaining as well as passionate and interesting. Good session.
Caught up with LM afterwards....we’re facing similar challenges at the moment but good to feel we have each other’s backs.....then a dash to the Festival Theatre (well, hardly a dash - I got a bus but suspect I’d have been quicker walking!). Eugene Onegin opera....staged beautifully in a glade (although rather too much use of the revolving centre!) and strong orchestra, chorus and soloists especially Tatyana (in red). Home just before the rain started - it’s actually been a pretty sunny and warm day which no-one expected!
