Stretch

Somewhat frantic day, started early at the kitchen supply place finalising the decisions on the kitchen. A few good tweaks to the plan I think but also aware that to do this properly would take so much longer (how would that be possible with so much else on my plate? Very frustrated to find how so many showrooms etc are only open some of the week as if the only people looking to do this have all the time in the world to work round the opening hours....this morning the worktop place was supposed to be open 10-1 but by 10.30 still wasn’t open and I can’t get back there now til next weekend. Grr)
Had to dash back to empty and pack up bookcases and wardrobe as people were coming to collect them. Packing’s going to take me ages....oh dear!
Worked on some more then to see the Really Terrible Orchestra (their real name!). It was started by Sandy McCall Smith (just visible sitting on the right at the back) for himself and other parents whose children were musical and gave them the impetus to want to play, but many have no musical training or indeed prowess. Nevertheless it was a really good and very good humoured concert. From there straight to Book Festival for literary prize ceremony followed by dinner. Lovely evening and as always enthused by the description of the various novels and biographies. Will I ever get round to reading them? Feels like I barely have time to breathe at the moment
