Our Lunigiana trip off to a good start!

A holiday in Lunigiana with Luca and Paola. We collected Luca from the airport and drove, quite painlessly, to the Costa di Gavedo B&B just a couple of hours from Florence. A beautiful area and the B&B is lovely: a 200 year old farmhouse and annexes, complete with small swimming pool. And what better way to start out our country jaunt than spotting a donkey. So sweet! Luca and Paola make fun of me for my love of donkeys, but they are so sweet and adorable, who can resist?

We settled in and then went off to dinner at a pizzeria suggested by the owner. Apparently most places are closed on Monday evenings so we were "lucky" to find this place. Admittedly, the food was good - see the extra photo of the characteristic testaroli with pesto (delicious!) - but the location was pretty dodgy, some kind of old military place that is being reinvented as a moto cross centre.

Wonderful to see Luca!
