Dumyat

After 32 years as an academic in Scotland, I finally visited Stirling University today. The weather in Edinburgh was beautiful when I left, but it soon clouded over, which was a shame as the campus is quite attractive, with fine views of Dumyat.

I went to listen to a broad range of relatively low-level computational mathematics talks. It made a refreshing change from the highly technical talks I hear in specialist conferences. I got to meet a collection of people I'd never seen before, and made some connections that will be more or less useful in future.
