Roundabouts!!!

Out on the road to Kirkley hall and zoo this morning, something that I had pre-booked a family ticket for weeks before our holiday. We reached our destination only to find that it only opens at weekend!!

So coordinates reset to Whitley bay, managed to find some cheesey seaside shops and had a brew stop on the sea front. Then back into the car and headed up the road to St Mary's lighthouse. Parked up and walked across the causeway, looking out to sea we were amazed to see Grey seals basking on the rocks, glad I had binoculars with me. Spotted some Oystercatcher and Redshank before heading to the lighthouse shop.

Me and kiedis spent the next hour rock pooling, caught some shrimps and a crab and also had fun watching hermit crabs. It was good to see families out having fun exploring the natural world.

Back at camp by 17.00 for kiedis to attend his kyack session which he loved and wants to do more of. Finished of the day by ordering a Chinese and watching Mrs Doubtfire back at the caravan.
