Thank You For the Days ..

The End of the Day

Up promptly this morning, as we are when the little ones are around. Then it seems to take ages to get the show on the road. We had to go to collect Ali's car from the local garage. She has it serviced, etc when she's up here, as it costs a lot less than it would in Surbiton.  We continued on to Harestanes where Nico enjoyed the playground and TM walked Raf through the woods.

Home for lunch, then TM and I scrubbed up and set off for Edinburgh. Many moons ago he did a bit of writing, and he still gets a little trickle of royalties each year, conveyed to him through ALCS, the Authors' Licensing and Copyright Society.
And every couple of years during the Edinburgh Book Festival they have a reception for members, held after hours in the National Museum of Scotland.

I like the chance to wander around (though we don't get to stray far beyond the gallery we're supposed to be in, alas), and there are always interesting people to chat to.  And there's the odd glass of wine and some quite nice nibbles too.

I took this just as we were leaving, last out as usual. You can just see the cleaning crew ready to set to.
