Inch by inch, by winch

This morning I sat with Bobby, while her husband J went and got the weekly messages.  This is now a regular occurrence, her dementia is sadly at the point where she cannot be left alone.  If J has a doctor's appointment, wants to cut the grass, get his hair cut, etc, etc I nip along and keep her company.  Mike had to step into the breach the other day while I was in town.  It is a devastating illness, for the patient and their partner.  Hopefully there will soon be some sort of care package in place.  It is getting too much for J on his own, especially at night.

Following on from yesterday:
This afternoon we winched Peridot, on her trolley, onto her trailer.  Inch by inch Mike wound her in, we quickly put the chocks behind the wheels and pulled her up the trailer a bit further.  So satisfying to see it all going so smoothly!  It's all in the preparation and planning!

Now she is safely at rest outside the garage and snugged down.  No more worrying about gales and storms!  The winter can do its worst!

As if this wasn't enough excitement, in the evening I drove H over to the West Mainland to see a lovely pony.  The owner is going south and is offering the pony on loan, together with his Shetland companion.  Both parties were happy with the arrangement, so the ponies are being boxed over at the beginning of September.  I am really looking forward to trying him out, he's looks as if he will be good fun!
