Ever Ready

My late father-in-law was a radio ham and general collector of all sorts of things. Some might say a hoarder. Marie was clearing out his garage when she came across over 40 vintage radios from the 1930's through to the late 50's. It's now my job to photograph them all and value them before selling as a job lot or individually. The proprietor of my local bar, The Golden Eagle, has bought two radios including the one pictured above resting on our piano. It's a 1937 Ever Ready model. I can just imagine a family huddled around this set listening to the latest news from the frontline or maybe hearing Lord Haw Haw spouting German propaganda.  It is destined to sit on the piano inside the pub and it will fit in perfectly with the overall antique vibe of the place.
