Spotted...

………………….Shags

BACKBLIP

It has been a busy weekend as the Motueka Camera Club hosted the Seddon Shield weekend for the six clubs across the top of the South Island, NZ.

Yesterday included an optional boat trip along the coast of the Abel Tasman National Park. The weather was perfect and the day really enjoyable - especially as the boat was solely for our use.

These birds are Spotted Shags, endemic to NZ. The adult breading birds sport a distinctive hair-do and darker feathers. The paler and browner birds are the immature ones. Check out the extra photo - and of course this one looks so much better in large!

Thank you for your continued visits, stars and hearts for my previous two blips. Sorry my time has been limited on Blip this weekend.
