Went up the allotment - amongst all the greenery I saw this huge spider at the centre of her web. Then D pointed out that the little spider approaching her (very carefully) was a male. He cautiously tapped her legs and appeared to tickle her before rushing away. Then he came back and strummed upon the threads of her web. I think he must have got away with it. - that enshrouded fly on the right of the pic may have been his pre-nuptial gift to her.
