It's nice to be staying out in the countryside where the light pollution is slight enough I can actually see some stars.

This isn't as sharp as I'd like because as soon as I got out of the trees around the house I realised it was blowing a hooley! Anyway, it's the first time I've tried star photography so it was interesting to experiment. The longest exposure I tried was 5 minutes, I'll clearly need to go a LOT longer to get decent star trails!

This is the last night of our New Year holiday. It's been lovely to catch up with everyone, play some silly games, and explore a little. It will be nice to be back in my own house tomorrow, but it's going to feel rather empty without the cat...
