Plumbing Woes

Not a very exciting blip - but an expensive one!

I had the plumbers in all morning as I had detected slight seepage from a radiator in the lounge.  They replaced the radiator and gave the entire system a powerflush as the decaying radiator had added rusty sludge to the primary circuit fluid, which was showing a rather low (acid) pH.  On examining the state of the back of the radiator, which had not previously been visible, the plumber confirmed my fear that it would not have survived the next winter and could have caused a lot of damage.  This radiator was installed when the house was built in 2013 and so has only been in use for less than 6 years.  I just hope it was one 'Monday morning' radiator and that they are not all going to fail in a similar way.
