Zentangle

The day slid by without any photos of the apple pie or the nice walk on the cliffs. I was feeling zentangly in the afternoon, and took inspiration from Zentangles Project Pack 6, a series of videos that illustrates various techniques. The premise of this set is No Mistakes, a concept that arose from accidental ink blots that threatened to ruin one of the authors' journals. But look: you can draw over the inkblots, you can shift from black to white and back again. Apparently you can redeem anything! Good to know. I love the peacefulness of making these drawings, at the same time that I'm giving myself a hard time about their being too derivative. Like there's a derivative line somewhere. Don't cross it.

There are really only three patterns here, and they intertwine and co-mingle shamelessly to make this seemingly complicated design. It's really not difficult if you just make one line at a time.
