Willamette Meteorite

Kathy and I took advantage of the gorgeous weather today and went on a "Field Trip".

Using the county bus system we traveled across Eugene to the University of Oregon campus.

The U of O Museum of Natural and Cultural History our objective.

The museum certainly did not disappoint, in fact exceeded our expectations.

The highlight for me was the Willamette Meteorite replica in front of the museum.

I first saw the Willamette Meteorite as a young boy at the Museum of Natural History in New York City.

It made a great impression on me such that seeing this replica was much the same as greeting an old friend.
