Visited the Italian Chapel and spent some time in Kirkwall before taking in an evening tour of Maeshowe.
The Italian Chapel was built by Italian prisoners of war and is beautifully decorated and preserved.
Maeshowe is a 4,700 year old chambered cairn built so that the midwinter sun shines along its entrance passage. It also has some interesting Viking graffiti.
