The Clouds Roll By

At sunset, the broken up clouds drifted by, turning pink as they passed the sinking sun. Now they have all disappeared leaving the sky a dark blue.  I spent the afternoon with my old friend whose husband's funeral is next week. He was 87, and was once a well respected Cambridge city councillor. We chatted about our families and friends over tea and cream cakes.
