Gum trees in Grosseto

In an otherwise anonymous street of Grosseto (where we buy our pane di grano antico) there is a park, or better a strip, where the most beautiful stringy bark gum trees grow. They warm my heart!

Renovations are not only in the air, they're happening! Tiziano woke up this morning to the sounds of the alarm clock, saying "who would have ever thought I'd be setting the alarm clock to go and see parquet floors?". And yet, here we are doing just that. Claudio will come on Monday to measure the rooms, so we're off and away.

We spent the afternoon clearing my room of all the boxes so that Sandro can start painting. And then a bike ride, this time the path to Marina di Grosseto.

In the evening, Magnolia, a 1999 film by Paul Thomas Anderson, of regret and forgiveness. Very powerful and moving, despite the toads tumbling from the skies.
