mother-of-pearl moth

I think that’s what it is. Spent ages looking at my moth books and on the internet. Quite large and very pretty - wings almost translucent. It fluttered out from underneath the dahlias and sat like this for a few seconds. Monday is admin day so I spent a while this morning sorting things out on the computer.
