The giant crossword

The 'giant crossword' isn't especially hard (sure, there's always 'What's the capital of' questions that we can struggle on).  It's just that to fit all the clues on the page they can be a little short, and that can make them ambiguous.
About this stage in the week (it's from the Saturday paper)  we normally have a second look at it and hope for fresh inspiration.
