h's verge...

...is waking up to spring with the arrival of freesias.
Neighbour H and I have known each other for decades from uni days in Liverpool and then after many years travelling the world in opposite directions ending up living in the same street!
She is a feisty Northern England gal and some years ago harangued the council for sending out their 'verge mowers' to clear the area just as the freesias were about to bloom.
That was a once off and now they bloom and scent the street every spring..and are fine bunches for a vase.
