Day #6 Bilbao

Today we were in Bilbao - not a city we have visited before and we enjoyed it a lot. The weather was perfect for sightseeing with about 70 degrees, a light breeze and blue skies. We did a hop on, hop off tour to get our bearings and then came back to the Guggenhiem(where else) to take in the magnificence of this beautiful building. An amazing structure, even for someone who is not really interested in art. We didn't go in as we wanted to do more and had to be back quite early for our Azamazing evening. We made time for a trip up top via the funicular - some fabulous views, a drink and an ice cream and then it was back to the ship.
We had a quick buffet style dinner and then it was off to the Chocolate box, a lovely theatre in Bilbao, for a private performance from Korrontzi, a folk band and dancers from the Basque area. They were fantastic - a cross between riverdance and sea shanty style music - very lively and got your feet tapping and your hands clapping. A wonderful way to end our time in Bilbao.
