Raggedy

Tiny Tuesday: Raggity

This raggedy white has seen better days from the look of its wings.

After yesterday's Mono Monday shenanigans in Affinity Photo, today is time for a nice straightforward macro.  There are so many whites in the garden at the moment that this really wasn't that hard to get.  It was just a question of standing by the appropriate plant and waiting for a minute or two until one turned up.  Considerably easier than the dragonfly shots recently.

In the meantime here in the UK as I sit and write this, Parliament is busy trying to ensure that the UK doesn't crash out of Europe on 31 October.  The pundits seem pretty clear that the bill will pass the Commons today, although I am less sanguine about its passing the Lords.  Quite what will happen then we are all waiting with bated breath to see.  It sounds as though there will be another election at some stage soon, but where that will then leave us, no one knows.  I fear that Britain's raggedy politics will continue to flutter on directionless.

The country remains deeply divided on the Brexit issue and the supporters of either side have become more entrenched over the last 3 years and are even less likely to be swayed by rational argument now.   Any sort of consensus seems improbable.  Long lasting divisions have been created, which continue to be reinforced; those divisions have the potential to derail political debate for years to come, to the detriment of all and particularly the weakest members of society.

Raggedy indeed.
