The End of the Festive Season

Just three weeks ago, these trees were the centre of excitement as they were carefully put in tree-holders and decorated... Now they lie, ignominiously strapped to the roof of my car, ready to be returned to the shop from which they were bought, waiting to be pulped and recycled.

Ah, such is the way of celebrity... a fleeting joy if ever there was one.
