A boat trip for Stan

Yesterday I went on a canal trip, F's friend M hired a narrowboat for the day leaving from Ellesmere. His dad died a few months ago and yesterday would have been his birthday so M arranged the trip in his memory.

We all took food towards a picnic on board and F's daughter decorated a cake in the shape of a narrowboat with the name Stan on the side (M's dad's name).

The blip is of M and H and the cake. The extras are the group at the cake cutting and mooring the boat.

We went as far as Frankton Junction before turning around for the return trip to Ellesmere. We were fortunateto have a sunny day and it was lovely seeing the countryside fromthe water rather than the towpath.

Afterwards they came back to my house where the leftover food was consumed. It was a lovely day out with lots of laughs and hopefully we'll do it again some time.
