"To me, a leader is someone who holds her- or himself accountable for finding potential in people and processes."
 - Brene Brown

Opening ceremony this morning, with the whole school gathered to bring in the new academic year, was surprisingly, uniquely, a most enjoyable series of (short) pertinent, interesting, thought provoking speeches, from different significant individuals, including a colleague who talked about the need for vulnerability for personal growth and the work of researcher writer Brene Brown who writes and talks about the power of vulnerability. And so my 22nd year at the school begins, another medley of unexpected triumphs and failures awaits those willing to try. Talking of which, my colleague friend and photo teacher, was, this afternoon, experimenting with the large (4x5 view) format camera, chasing that illusive, creative image, that will inevitably appear through the littered field of failures that is Persistence.
