Wild Wednesday over The Trossachs

This sky tells the story: a wild and stormy day over The Trossachs.

Torrential rain on and off most of the day clearing this evening with a glimmer of sunshine.

Meanwhile I had a morning in the swimming pool. Our aqua aerobics class is also, I have now discovered, something of a social centre playing the same role that Roman baths used to. This is where the community meet, catch up on all the latest news and in our case- since most of us are older, comparing medical notes and discussing the veracity of local hospitals, and GPs.

It was here that I learnt that one local GP had been sacked on the spot. Not that I was unduly surprised.  He was of the old fashioned “doctor knows best” school making him totally unsuitable for this area where people have not the slightest hesitation in questioning doctors.

He has been moved to a poor area of Scotland. Nobody will question his diagnoses there. And that is tragic.
