Romeo and Juliet

We went to see Matthew Bourne's interpretation of Swan Lake back in April, and at the time, noticed that his version of Romeo and Juliet was due to tour to Norwich in September.  We booked the tickets back in July.

My photo was taken in the interval, when the inmates of the institution are gradually escorted back onto the stage by the minders.  Just before the interval had been the fight between (and deaths of) Tybalt and Mercutio, and the dancing immediately after the interval showed incredibly clearly how disturbed they all were by these events.

I note that Arachne's blip a few days ago showed the same scene.  It is difficult to take photos during productions - partly because the Norwich Theatre Royal staff are very vigilant and negative about photos, even when the production company itself has not made any stipulation, and of course partly because it would be intrusive for the folks around me.

We found the ballet moving, and really enjoyed it.  Very intense - but then, that's the story, isn't it!
