F W Woolworth

I managed to find time to catch up on my latest assignment for the Ghost Sign project today.

Its about 10 years since Woolworth's went out of business in the UK.   One of the first of the victims in the decline of the High Street.  It had lost its way a bit, but its still missed by many.

It was of course an American company, one of the original 'five-and-dime stores'  -  whatever they are!

I was doing a bit of reasech on them and there is a really interesting website here.

I'm just off to eat my Pic'n'Mix candy now.!
