Steam Weekend Part 1

We have two days of steam events to enjoy this weekend.

Today it was the Swindon Steam Museum Railway Festival, actually mainly model railways. The main blip shows James from Thomas The Tank Engine. Apparently he can be vain and boastful at times, but he seemed OK today. I enjoyed it, but it did seem to be mostly middle aged men playing with model trains and steam engines (see first extra for an overview of the main hall).

When we were on our way in to the museum an excited enthusiast told us there would be a steam engine due on the main line in the afternoon.
Rory and I managed to catch that in the second extra - the Union Of South Africa. Only one coach for some reason, but still nice to see.

Tomorrow we have Northleach Steamshow, we we tend to visit most years.
