Club Triumph 10 Countries Run Day 4

The final day of the run and the last remaining country to get to 10. We left Augsburg in drizzle and seemed to drive through a repeating cycle of rain then sunny spells all day. Up through Germany, we stopped for coffee and cake mid morning before happening on a local car hill climb which caused a temporary stop to progress. Lunch soon followed and as we headed into the top of Germany it was really soggy.

Our route took us past the Nurburgring, the infamous 13 mile race track that is often open to the public (but not today). A practice session for a race was underway so we stopped and photographed (see blip). Then we really were on the final stretch. After becoming a bit separated we regrouped our mini team of 4 cars and arrived at the finish at the Rolduc monastery in the Netherlands together. We gave the near obligatory arrival greeting from our car with the blue light and siren going, it’s always popular.

Not sure how many of the 85 cars finished but by early evening there was a good collection of cars parked up. A buffet dinner, short thank you speech and much socialising followed (see our full team group in the extra). Just the 400 miles home tomorrow to do now!
