The etchings

The usual pile of Saturday papers and then we decided to head off out down Portobello way as it was this Porty Art Walk thing which I’d never been to before. Well, there was always the chance of a beer, I reckoned. And what fun it was. Especially after we’d disposed of the son who trotted along for a bit. First highpoint was the film mash up of John and Julie running off to London to see the Queen at the site of the Electric Bungalow cinema - and we bumped into Jules in Lee Crescent while we were on our way to see Peter Standen’s etchings! The SK had obviously been invited back to see them years ago as she found one that’s she's actually got. Blip photo opportunity, obvs.
Then back and it still being warm, we took the deckchairs over to the beach to sit awhile and I finally got that beer. But while coming down through the back garden later I was stunned and pleased to see some of our sweetcorn cobs looked like they could be ready for harvesting. And you know, I actually looked up YouTube for info before delicately removing them … one was attached with a very suspicious kebab skewer. And me with a Botany degree and everything. Idiot!
