Beast Banks

The name of a steep hill in central Kendal. Named after the horses that used to drag lime up the hill to the lime-kilns on the fell at the top. I thought I would blip it today because tomorrow you will not be able to stand in the road and take a photo as I did today. Tomorrow the fourth stage of the Tour of Britain cycling race starts in Gateshead and finishes in Kendal with the final leg being 500 m up Beast Banks, average climb 11%. After the 3000m of climb they'll do on this stage, this last little hill will be a doddle.
