Look What The Hurricane Dragged In

The south section of the salt marsh area finally reopened today after being closed since before the hurricane hit. That area was part of the mandatory evacuation so naturally the entire beach area was closed as well.

All these dried reeds you see here is supposed to be open water where the wading birds, and yes, even the alligators normally feed.

I don’t know how many tide changes it will take to clear this back out or if in fact it ever will clear out.

I haven’t even seen the north beach area yet as I suspect down trees and other storm related debris will take some time to be cleared away.

In the meantime, a lot of wildlife will have to adjust their feeding schedules. Easier for the birds than the alligators.
