Polypodium

There are three native polypodies but I can’t say which one this is. It liked the alkaline rock that is Oxenber Crag.

Polypody comes from Ancient Greek. Poly means many and podion means little foot; referring to the foot-like rhizome and its branches.

After 2 years a) protecting my back and b) concentrating on achieving my Mountain Leader award, I finally decided to give climbing another go. I see Intothehills has posted a blip of me on the Crag. Given the forecast was very heavy rain, we only had light mizzle, we didn’t do too badly under cover of the trees. I even got to play with Missy. Probably should’ve blipped her!
