Point and Shoot

I'm glad that I have scanned the old family photos.  The birthday party looks like a much simpler time, without too many frills.  There is a cake, some some biscuits, sandwiches and sausage rolls with orange squash to drink.  My sister and I are dressed in frocks made by our mother.  We are in the yard behind the house, married quarters at Moorish Castle.  I remember the scent of geraniums.

I might  try setting one of my camera to monochrome, if that is possible, so that I can study light and shade without the interference of colour.
