Diver?

Dragged myself out of hibernation today for a leisurely bike ride on a beautiful calm, hazy day. Just went around the island, stopping off to take pics and sit on the beach watching the birds go past.

I think this is a Great Northern Diver in it's winter plumage but to be honest I haven't a clue what I'm talking about. Striking bird whatever it is.
