Round the country race

This is a shot of the cycle race whizzing by in West Kirby on the Wirral leg of the race. I wasn’t going to go particularly but I was having lunch in West Kirby with a friend and we heard that they were due in a few minutes. When we got to Banks road it was like a carnival, with crowds along the road waving flags and all the shop keepers out on the pavement! The support police outriders and support vehicles took about 10 minutes to go by with flashing lights and tooting, and then the cyclists whizzed past in about half a minute. I’m glad I was there as it was very exciting!
