Hoverfly on Ceanothus

It was sunny and quite warm today, and there were lots of hoverflies in the garden. I was at home while we were getting a new central heating boiler fitted; there were snags discovered during the job, but it all  turned out OK.

Just noticed that it has a rather large tongue with an unexpected structure.
