Abbey of Acquafredda

The monastery was founded in 1143, though I think the oldest parts of the existing buildings day date from rather later, maybe 1600. The abbey stands not far from our apartment, though quite a bit further up the hill.

An energetic morning for me as we decided to walk to the Abbey. What goes up must come down, so we then walked back down to the village for a coffee and to buy some bread.

Lunch on the terrace today. very warm, about 26º and a cloudless sky. I think we will walk down to the lake later for an aperitivo before having dinner at the apartment.

Unfortunately the midges are out in force today!
