Cathrin Community Nursery-Eco Warriors

I was on an ICTEX visit to South Lanarkshire when this photo was taken. One of the great things about being a part of this group is visiting many different schools and seeing some of the fantastic work which takes place everyday in these establishments.

Going back to Cathkin Community Nursery is always a pleasure and a joy. Liz Mercer, the irrepressible head is probably the most committed child-centred educators I have ever met. She and her team do an incredible job and you can see this from the moment you enter the building. Brilliant stuff from start to finish. My faith in education and learning is always reinforced and increased by seeing the work they do here.

Liz showed us some of the Eco Schools projects the nursery children are currently working on. The blip shows their greenhouse, made from recycled plastic bottles. Just absolutely brilliant and so creative.
