Celebrating a 40th birthday

A week later than planned but what a great night.  The staff at J’s made it extra special with them singing and dancing as they brought a dom pedro complete with sparklers to the birthday boy.

Earlier in the day I gave in and visited our doctor to see what could be done with my conk that was even more swollen and glowing like a Belisha beacon.

Turns out it was a good idea as in addition to a fever blister I had developed a strep infection too. I was given a lecture on the dangers of any infection in that triangle of the face as it would lead towards a potential infection in the brain. Who knew!

Two antibiotics, lots of yoghurt and probiotics will hopefully get me back on track.
