Old acquaintances.

Edinburgh. The centre piece is a view down to a tenement basement flat, where we met with an old university friend of mine who works overseas and his wife and family who live in the Highlands. Bottom left is their street, typical of that part of the New Town.
Afterwards my wife and I walked along the Water of Leith to the Dean Village; both were accessed from my office car park, back in the day. The statue is Hygieia, Goddess of Health at St Bernard’s Mineral Water Well, built 1789. Bell’s Brae House, built 1597, is one of the oldest inhabited domestic buildings in Edinburgh.... and the waterfall is behind the office. The air was always lovely here at lunchtime on a warm summer’s day (no air conditioning in office).
