Heritage Open Day...

...at Christ Church, Sowerby Bridge (Nr. Halifax).
Opened in 1821 and described as “a handsome and commodious chapel of the Gothic order of architecture” and with 'seating' for 962, this is indeed a handsome church.
My Blip is the view down the Nave to the Altar - I thought it very impressive (and looks even better when viewed 'large')..
Inside, the church is quite light and airy, and larger than I thought when viewed from the outside (see extra).
I love these Heritage Open Days - I find it fascinating to visit new places and meet the people who are involved with the day to day tasks. They have a wealth of knowledge about their venues.
There will be more Blips during this coming week :-)
