Polesden Lacey

First visit of the year using my Christmas present, a year's subscription to the National Trust. Polesden Lacey was the home of Edwardian hostess Mrs Greville, who entertained Royalty here and Maharajas. In 1923 future King George VI and Queen Elizabeth spent their honeymoon here. Mrs Greville left this property and her furniture to the National Trust and her jewellery to the Queen Mother. She had no children but 17 dogs. Very interesting and elaborate place. Will go again in summer to see the grounds at their best.
