Ramblings in Life

By MacNeil

A day of two halves

It was a day of two halves, both pleasing in their own way. In the late morning, I met a colleague for a bicycle tour to the town of Wölfenbüttel. The town is famous for the philosopher Gotthold Lessing, who was the librarian of the near Ducal library - now famous for its collection of ancient books. In the town was an international gathering of youth choirs, meaning round each corner was a different group performing.

In the evening, I met with a colleague and his friend, who is a professional clarinettist. We had a great time the three of us playing trios, particularly some that were more suited to the Bavarian beer houses.
