Wetherby Band Stand

Watching Hade Edge Brass Band.

Decided to have an away day from gardening etc and as every Sunday throughout summer there is a different brass band play at Wetherby we decided to go. We first had a walk down by the river which was high and flowing fast, then we strolled around the town, unfortunately it wasn't farmers market sunday that was last week.

Called at the pub for a half a lager sat outside as we had Molly with us it was very pleasant. Then we went and got some fish and chips from the famous Wetherby Whaler and went back to the car to eat them, I had packed a flask and some bread and butter.

People were arriving with their chairs and settling round the bandstand so we joined them. It was supposed to start at 2 but they didnt get sorted until 2.40 as soon as they started Molly decided she didn't like the sound and barked at them so Paula took her back to the car as she was getting cold and we listened to 3 numbers but it was getting really chilly and to be honest we were a bit dissapointed in the choice, so we took Molly for another walk along the river bank, we could still hear the band and it wasn't getting any better so at 4pm we decided to come home. We have heard them in the past and they are usually good.

The funniest thing was when we arrived at the car park about 12 noon there was an elderly chap sat with 3 empty chairs in a prime position he was still sat there when we came back nearly 2 hours later. I think they had left him there to guard that spot.
