Fucking ridiculous start to the day, up at 5.30am took me 30 minutes to get the first 22 miles from home, then took me 90 minutes to do the last 3 miles from Eccles to the office. Not content with closing Heywood road into & out of Manchester, the council have also decided to now put Regent Road back to one lane. Absolute fucking shambles of a city. It doesn’t help that we have a 3rd world rail service. Just yesterday Northern Rail managed to have 43 trains fully cancelled, 39 part cancelled and 282 trains with reduced carriages. Fuck HS2, just spend the money on a reliable service connecting the Northern cities before you even think about improving the service to London. Getting a reliable service up here would make a lot more difference to peoples lives, business, connectivity and pollution levels than HSfucking2. In brighter news I finally managed to get to the post office and get the four rolls off to AG photographic & also it appears we should have our new sofas by the end of next week. It should be lovely until one of the four legged hairy fuckers we call pets manages to trash them. I will consider us blessed if we get a week out of them looking new. In other news first day of our prorogued parliament. Have to say it was nice to have less of those self-serving gobshites in the news.
