All part of the story

Cudden Point at sunset

S fulfilled a lifetime ambition today. He has always wanted to swim in the Penzance Lido! And today he/we did.

The lido was derelict for decades but was reopened this summer having undergone extensive (and still ongoing) renovations. The pool contains 5 million litres of seawater when full. It is routinely cleaned and refilled with fresh seawater, using minimal chemical treatment. It’s capacity is 600 bathers at any one time. And this summer already they have had to implement a one out one in regime to cope with excessive numbers of would be swimmers. A community run success story - and a great place to swim!

We walked to Cudden Point this evening as the sunset which was beautiful. Beforehand we met our landlord who came to say hello and make sure we were happy. I felt a bit bad for moaning yesterday.
